ABOUT US
Our Story
In 2018, Itofa Ivarah founded Church On The Street, a faith-driven humanitarian organization committed to bringing food relief to struggling communities, supporting displaced families, and sharing the message of Jesus. After four years of impactful leadership as the organization’s first CEO, on July 1st 2022, he expanded this mission by launching the campaign My9ja Food Bank, an initiative designed to provide educational opportunities in Nigeria’s most underserved rural areas primarily.
My9ja Food Bank’s programs have significantly improved school retention rates, keeping countless children in classrooms and bringing hope to communities through the power of educational infrastructure. Church On The Street continues to support this campaign by investing in its programs.

Who Are We?
If we could wave a magic wand to ensure every child in Nigeria can access an immersive learning opportunity while being fully nourished – we will do it without hesitation.
My 9ja Food Bank is on a mission to bridge the gap between malnutrition and education for children of school age. We take several approaches that cover public policy & lobbying, Teacher training, Mobile food banks & libraries, and local partnerships with farmers and retail outlets, to achieve our objective. We are waving the wand one project at a time.
Our Mission
My9ja Food Bank is working to increase the retention rate of children in school from socio-economic disadvantaged backgrounds through our school programs and also strengthening food security by empowering smallholder farmers to add value to the agricultural value chain through micro grants and training.
Our Vision
We believe in a thriving Nigeria where every child has equal opportunity to pursue their dreams through education and food becomes relatively affordable and accessible for all.
Our Values
Our programs drive on data and use the most recent research and papers published by leading institutions like FAO, UNICEF, World Bank, among others, to design locally locally-led interventions that address issues of education and food security.
We are accountable to our donors and publish all financial transactions and program expense in our annual report, providing detailed traction or program direction within the organisation.
Our programs are open to all citizens of Nigeria, irrespective of gender or tribe. We meet our beneficiaries’ need where they are in order to champion equity and never assume everyone is equal.
